Pinterest Microderm

If you're ever on Pinterest as much as I am I'm sure you've seen the link with the baking soda microdermabrasion trick. The link said all you do is mix three parts baking soda to one part water, rub it on your face in circular motions, rinse, and your skin will glow like you just got it done professionally.

Now I've done this two ways, the Pinterest way and the better way. The Pinterest way made my bathroom a huge mess and was slightly uncomfortable when washing it off. (It also took forever to wipe off all the baking soda.) My way is a lot less messy and can easily be done in the shower. I had an old bottle of Cetaphil just sitting around so I figured I should try mixing it with the baking soda. It's pretty much the best idea I've had in a long time!

The Cetaphil is a low foam cleanser that is very gentle on any skin type, so when mixed with the baking soda it makes the perfect exfoliant without being too harsh. Mixing the baking soda with the face wash not only makes it less messy but also makes it come off a lot easier. I kept the portions the same, three parts baking soda to one part face wash until you make a paste. I premix about two cups at a time and keep it in  a Tupperware container in the shower.

I've started using this 2-3 times a week in the shower and I'm loving the results! My skin hasn't been this smooth in a long time. Normally this time of year my face gets dry patches but this takes care of them in a matter of seconds. It's little finds like this that makes the hours spent on Pinterest worth it... Or at least that's what I'm telling Mike!

  1. I've used this home remedy for a long time! I think some people are scared but it's so good and when you think about it it's completely natural too!
