Current Desk Set Up and the Changes I'll Make

Around this time last year I posted a 'My Dream Blogging Space' post with pictures of desk set ups that I adored. I stumbled across it when I was re-organizing my blog and thought that it was finally
time  I put these idea into action. I knew I would have a little extra money this month (thank you holiday pay!) so I figured I would make a trip up to Ikea and get some new stuff to spruce up my little desk space.

Like I need a reason to go to Ikea...

There are a lot of things with my current set up that I am not really fond of. I have a little four drawer unit and while it does a good job of holding all my makeup there's no organization at all. I use the top of it to hold my makeup brushes and anything else that happens to land there. If I had my way I would trade this out and add the Alex 9 drawer unit from Ikea. I have been eyeballing that sucker for over a year now. Maybe I'll get it for my birthday... or I will crack and buy it before then.

As far as my desk goes... I hate it! I got it a few years ago as a birthday gift from Mike's parents, and while I loved it back then I have grown out of the dark desk look and am wanting something more sleek looking. As you can see in the pictures my work computer and phone take up a lot of space, so a desk that is a little bit longer would be nice. That way could put some acrylic drawers on top to store all my everyday makeup. There are two drawers and a middle section where I keep baskets of makeup, but  again, I'm no longer a fan of this set up.

I have a good sized dresser and I feel like I could be putting the top of it to better use. As you can see all it really holds is a few body sprays, a purple bowl, a side lamp, and the box I hold random pieces of jewelry in. I'm searching on eBay for a bracelet tree and have the most amazing mirror in mind that will go right above my dresser. I'm also thinking about getting different lamp shades but not 100 percent sure on that yet, I will have to see what they have. There are a few more things that I plan on getting to add a little flare to my work space/vanity. I plan on doing a post once everything is done so you all can see how everything comes together.

I would love to see how you guys have your makeup area set up, leave a comment or send me an email. I love hearing from you guys!

NOTD: Forever 21 Gold & Essie Peach Daiquiri

Today's nail look is a combination that came along when I was messing around at work. I forgot where I saw the picture that gave me this idea, I'm almost 100 percent sure it was Pinterest.

The pink I used is Essie Peach Daiquiri, a peachy pink and a gold glitter from Forever 21. I love Forever 21 glitter polishes, not only are they cheap at only $2.80 a bottle but they dry super fast. So they are perfect for a quick manicure when you are running out the door. As for Peach Daiquiri, I have a love hate relationship with this nail polish. For some reason I can't seem I use this polish with a base coat. Whenever I do use a base coat it goes on really streaky no matter what I do. I have used a few different base coats and they all seem to make it streak. Thankfully Essie polishes tend to be pretty chip resistant. Just make sure to use a good top coat.

I'm really loving this combo. I think is perfect for summer and a nice change from what I normally wear on my nails. What is your go-to summer nail color?

Queen Helene Grape Seed Peel Off Mask

Since starting my beauty blog I make a point to try new products to review when I can. That means I have about six different foundations, four face powders, seven mascaras, and just as many eyeliners at any given time. This doesn't seem like a lot compared to some people but for me it's a good amount. Since I try  new thing all the time it something truly special for me to purchase it over and over again. One of these products is the Queen Helene Grape Seed Peel Off Mask aka my holy grail peel off mask.

I have been using this mask for over 10 years and it has stayed amazing the whole time. I wish I could say that have used it consistently the whole time but I haven't. About six years ago they stopped it in stores and I couldn't find it anywhere. Well, thank goodness for Google because after a little bit of searching I found it on Amazon.  (Click here to order the mask)

I use this just like any other peel off mask. I wash my face with the Clean &Clear Blackhead Scrub, then hold a hot wash cloth  to my face to open up my pores. Once my pores are good and open I start applying the mask. I tend to start applying where ever I'm having a breakout first. Applying this mask feels a little like rubbing Jello on your face, but its kinda fun.

Now, if I had to pick one downside to this mask it would be the smell. Oddly enough the smell doesn't bother my nose too much but it tends to bother my eyes. It smell can be a little strong strong when first applied but after a minute or two that goes away. Other than that I'm obsessed with this mask. I try to use it around 2-3 a week depending on if my skin is acting up or not. When I use it on a regular basis I see huge improvements in my skins texture and tone. My skin is more even and all my dry spots are gone. I honestly can't say enough good things about this mask. I highly recommend that you give it a try.

What is your go-to face mask? Is it a peel off, clay, or another type? Leave a comment below, I'm always looking for recommendations.

P.S. Beauty Addicts Anonymous is getting a whole new look this weekend. Make sure to come back Monday to see how her makeover went!

Nivea Lip Butters Review

Today my loves we are going to talk about butter, lip butters that is. A few weeks ago I FINALLY got my hands on the newish Nivea Lip Butters. I had to underline finally because I have been hunting these suckers down since they came out. When word of these lip butters first made their rounds in the beauty community I knew they were right up my alley. I am a huge lip product addict so I'm always on the hunt for new ones to try, with all the raves reviews that theses were getting I had to try them out. They really were a lot harder for me to find than most other products. I made a point to look at every drug store that I went to but never had any luck.  I was at Target one day looking for some self tanner when randomly I found the lip butters, hanging out by the lotion. How random is that?

I only picked up two flavors, Raspberry Rose and Vanilla & Macadamia.  I might try the caramel one someday but these two flavors jumped out at me. The vanilla macadamia one smells like a white chocolate macadamia cookie, freaking yum! The raspberry rose one smells exactly how the raspberry Mamba candies taste. I was obsessed with Mambas when I was in middle school, so I guess thats why the raspberry rose one is my favorite.

Nivea states the lip butters have a Hydra IQ technology and are enriched with shea butter, almond oil, and vitamin E to soothe dry lips. The weather in Oregon has been crazy lately, 80 degrees one day, and 45 and raining the next. That and the fact that I had a cold a week ago really took a toll on my lips. I really put these lip butters to the test, and they did amazingly! Literally after having them on for only a few minutes my lips went from dry and flakey to smooth and soft. There has only been one other product that I have tried that has worked this well on my dry lips, it was discontinued so these are a perfect replacement.

I have still only found them at Target and the Target website. They are $3.49 each but the Target website has three packs for $9. If you have a Target Red Card than shipping is free. (Having a Red Card can be dangerous, just a friendly warning!)

Let me know if you have tried these and what you thought. Also where did you you find them? Pin It Now!
